The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs (JTC and ITC) provide a program of sequentially developed skills which prepare choristers for admission into the Surrey Children's Choir.

The Music Director determines the appropriate placement for each chorister at an initial audition. Advancement to Surrey Children's Choir requires a second audition. Members of the two training choirs are not necessarily younger than the Surrey Children's Choir members. They are all striving to gain the skills and experience necessary to become members of the Surrey Children's Choir. The training choirs perform in the annual Christmas and May Concerts and often one other concert in the Surrey Choral Arts Season. The Intermediate Training Choir will also sing in the Kiwanis Music Festival. The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs will occasionally have other opportunities to perform. Each choir participates in one charity or community event/concert per season.
