Surrey Community Chorus

Info
The auditioned Surrey Community Chorus is an enthusiastic and disciplined ensemble of talented singers under the dynamic leadership of conductor Stephen Horning. Initially a group of Surrey Children's Choir parents who felt that they were missing out on all the fun, the ensemble is dedicated to the performance of superb choral works from a broad range of styles. The Chorus appears each season with the Surrey Children's Choirs in the popular family Christmas Concert. In the spring they present a major work - this year Mass No.3 in D Minor (Lord Nelson Mass) by Franz Joseph Haydn, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of his death.

In previous seasons the Surrey Community Chorus has presented the Faure "Requiem", Vivaldi "Gloria", Brahms "German Requiem" with the Semiahmoo Strings and guest artists. The chorus made its debut at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in 2000 and has produced 3 "30's" Cabarets with Alexander Browne and His Romantic Swing Orchestra.
